I dedicate this track to my grand father, Noel Anderson; and to my grand mother, 93 this year. On this day (April 9th 2022) 50 years ago, Noel left this world and I never got to meet him but 50 years on Muriel, his wife has been an anchor to our family. The date I felt needed to be written in song and becoming a father myself in 2020 to Sarah Muriel Anderson, gave me a deeper appreciation of family and the grand father I never knew.

It was fifty years ago,
April 9th we said bye to Noel. 
I wear his name in mine, 
A grandad I will never know.

Noel, he was a painter, a singer and a sailor. My nan, fifty years a widow, she feeds the birds and looks out the window. Well I am your grandson, would you say hello to your great grand daughter, Sarah; we'll sing a while longer for Noel.

I'm sure that my grandad was a man you could rely on, he'd come home to his family and the house he built on Princess Way; and your painting hangs on the wall. 
It was fifty years ago. 

Your three boys, they stayed close to home. I'm sure they felt, they've got big boots to fill; and your missus, she kept up with the show. Let's all imagine you in the front row.
